Epic review! Thank you so much!

- I had far too much fun with the eye goo and Knox, yes. I had the expert help of seatbeltdrivein for pathology details, and my wife is a doctor so the grouchy medical rants come easily to me! And yes, always geeky.
- Major Armstrong was very very difficult for me to write - he's one of the few FMA characters I find tough to get right. I always struggle with him, especially in serious mode. I'm glad he worked for you!
- There is definitely more to come on Roy's changed relationship with alchemy. This was a chance for me to plant that seed.
- YAY that you enjoyed the Roy/Riza friendship. The reason there wasn't more was partly that I wanted to keep it subtle, and partly because I wanted to preserve a sense that there was more than one path they could have gone down. In this 'verse, they're of course close and know each other so well (and indeed were each other's first shag, many years ago). I imagined the formality coming later, a boundary line which arrived when they were refashioning their relationship with each other after the 'shoot me if I step off the path' deal. In NSI, Roy and Riza are friends on first-name terms, and so I was trying to imagine how they might have started to get to that place.
- As I said to [livejournal.com profile] flybynight00, this fic also gave me a much-needed opportunity to give Hakuro some dimensions. Because he's a major antagonist in this 'verse, and besides his opposition to Roy's noble goals, does various horrid things, I wanted the reader to be able to see to some extent where he's coming from and to make him more than a cardboard cut-out villain. Your Bush quote is about on the money, although by the time of TPW, I think Hakuro has veered more from misguided towards really rotten.
